US Tech Aided China’s Mass Surveillance
Over the past decade, reports have shown how American technology quietly found its way into China's expanded surveillance system. The highest pieces, advanced software and even artificial intelligence equipment developed by US companies were also sold to Chinese companies that later became central to the country's state surveillance programs. In areas such as Xinjiang, where hundreds of thousands of humans were heavy monitoring and custody, these units played a direct role in making the control possible.
The problem harasses how blurry the lines between generally commercial sales and their final use. Many of the US companies insisted that their products were technologies with general goals. Nevertheless, when China's face recognition was built into platforms and safety networks, they became part of a system of internationally criticized for human rights violations. In fact, the goals and weak inspection of profits allowed these agreements to continue without adequate investigation.
